Stones for Isle Of Wight
First UK festival in 30 years
19 Mar 07 - The Rolling Stones are to play their first UK festival in nearly
30 years at this year's Isle Of Wight bash.
Music industry magazine Music Week says the veteran band will be confirmed
later this week as headlining on the Sunday 10 June.
They will be supported on the day by the likes of Keane, The Fratellis, James
Morrison and Paolo Nutini.
Snow Patrol have already been confirmed as headliners for the Friday night
and Muse for the Saturday.
Others on the bill at the already-sold out Seaclose Park event include Ash,
The Feeling, Kasabian and Amy Winehouse.
The last UK festival the band played was Knebworth Fair in the grounds of the
famous stately home on 21August 1976.
The Stones are also expected to round off their summer tour in St Petersburg
in Russia in August, the first time they've ever played the country.
