因為這個項目的定義是－ A television series with a predetermined number of episodes telling acomplete story arc. 用限定的集數長度述說一個完整的故事。 RM的許多作品都是(適)用這個定義來報名，而目前選集式的作品(就是單季一條故事線，季與季間可能毫無關聯的)也都歸在這個範疇中，雖然多半會比既定印象中的迷你劇長，但是最近都混合在一起。反而較少看見Mini Series的用法，所以還是選稱做迷你影集。
