I'm not one of those Hip Hop is dead I can't find good records now a days cats. As long as I can remember I've been surounded by great Hip Hop. Every year, every month, everyday all the time, never a problem. So when I hear heads saying "Hip Hop is dead" it just makes me question where they go to find it. The radio? Would you honestly goto the radio to fulfill all of your Hip Hop needs? That's like going to Mc Donald's for all your daily nutritional requirements. Dumb. That's 150 percent the wrong thing to do, so is 106 & Park. Don't get me wrong "I like it all" Mc Donald's too, on occassion. But that can't be it. That would be living in the Matrix or being fed thru a tube or some shit. No, the best option is always to start at the beginning. You know the basics take it step-by-step. Step 1: Do you personally know anyone who raps? (if you live on earth, chances are you do) Step 2: Do you know anyone who raps "Good" ? ( this part gets a little difficult in some areas, but) If you do, start there. And don't just get their C.D. and waste it, play it once or twice and coaster it. Bump that shit!! Get into the artist head if you have to ask him/her a few questions, then do it! Don't be a fan from a far because that's what kills Hip Hop. The fans or lack thereof. Why are all the real Heads always in the back. Trying not to "look like a fan". Not being heard and, not making choices. No vote, is one vote for the Majority, so don't let your choices be made for you. Content is the first choice, that's on the Rappers, Musicians and Producers. Support is the second choice and that's on the fans, the consumers, that's what keeps Hip Hop poppin'. If somethimg is good, support it ( even if your the only person that does. That's originality.) And if it's weak, don't. But pick your poison wisely because "choice is our greatest strength in life." "If you want to save Hip Hop, support your local artist !" One Luv.
