In the preview for the next episode aired on May 13, Park Ji Sung appeared to say, “I’m a viewer who enjoys watching Running Man. I plan to meet with soccer fans through the Asian Dream Cup in Thailand.” The next scene is the highlight of the video. Park Ji Sung says “Are you ready, expert?” and shouts out “Running Man out” after ripping off a nametag from a t-shirt, as is always done in Running Man. The ‘expert’ refers to Kim Jong Kook, who is called by that nickname in the show. The soccer player is thus shown in the preview declaring war on the Running Man expert. One question should come to your mind. Why did Park Ji Sung choose to go specifically against Kim Jong Kook? Of course, no one can deny that Kim Jong Kook is the strongest player in Running Man. In standards of influence, however, ‘God Yoo’ Yoo Jae Suk is probably the strongest among the members. Choi Min Soo proved this by declaring war against Yoo Jae Suk and then actually appearing on the show once more later on. Park Ji Sung, however, picked out Kim Jong Kook, and perhaps for two reasons. The first is that the two are close friends. Park Ji Sung and Kim Jong Kook boast a great friendship. Kim Jong Kook is a big fan of soccer, and the two were able to easily become friends as they both loved exercise. Kim Jong Kook proved they were close by appearing at the completion ceremony of the Park Ji Sung Soccer Center held in 2010. The second reason is that Kim Jong Kook is the most able member of Running Man. He proved that he was at his greatest in the survival race aired on May 6. Even all of the other Running Man members put together couldn’t win against Kim Jong Kook alone. Kim Jong Kook is thus the strongest physical contender. This is also why viewers are anticipating the clash between the ‘ expert’ Kim Jong Kook and soccer player Park Ji Sung so much. Park Ji Sung will be racing with the other Running Man members to ‘find the two hearts’. The episode will air on May 20.
