Placebo will play in Taiwan for first time ever! Headlining
Taiwan's biggest indie music event of the calendar, the
'Music Terminals Festival'

This summer's biggest indie music event in Taiwan - 'Music
Terminals Festival' is proud to announce Placebo to headline
the first night at the Music Terminals Festival's stadium on
the main stage! This totally new indie festival is aiming to be
the biggest celebration of the year, on the likes of which Taiwan
has never seen and has always dreamed of in the past... Not only on
its scale but also in its unique and class of musical taste as well.
This event will be taking place close to to where the Taipei
international airport is Tao Yuan. Around 35 acts from all over the
world would be joined in this 35,000 capacity stadium and 15,000
capacity arena, in a three stage event.

In the most exciting news for fans, of course is Placebo confirms
headlining the first day's main stage of this event. The wait is
finally over; some fans in Taiwan are waiting for this group for
more than 10 years, since Taiwan has been missing out on the band's
touring map for all these yerars - including the past tours which
saw the band as a main stage headliner on some of the biggest
festival events in South East Asia (Bangkok 100 festival in
Thailand, Pentaport in Korea & Beijing Pop Fetsival in China).
The wait is finally over the band will finally play in Taiwan this
summer, as a part of their 09 Asia tour to support the up coming new
release - Battle for the Sun (release locally VIA High Note records).

In these past 15 years, Placebo is consdidered as one of the most
successful British culture exports from the Alternative music era
and beyond. The band is enjoying huge success from their native
Europe to all around the world from Australia, South America to
here in South East Asia. They had sold out countless tours at
massive venues all around the globe - in 2006 to 2007, the band
played in front of around 1.4 million people world wide just for
that tour alone, supporting the release of that time Meds.

With 15 UK Top 40 singles, 6 Top 20 UK albums (including 5 of them

Placebo's sixth studio album with new drummer Steve Forrest, 'Battle
for the Sun', will be released on June 8th 2009. Recorded over three
months at Metal Works Studios in Toronto with producer David
Bottrill and mixed in London by My Bloody Valentine, Smashing
Pumpkins and Nine Inch Nails supremo Alan Moulder, Battle for the
Sun is a startling, alive, vital and boundary-vaulting Placebo
record.
