記得板上也曾經討論過管絃配樂的好與壞 ALexandre Desplat最近受訪也提到類似議題不過他說他拒絕接受所謂old-fashion配樂的說法好的音樂就是好的音樂，不因為他是管絃樂或加了電子樂問iF: The coolest thing about NEW MOON’s score is how “old school” it is. The music never panders to the rock and roll "teen" sound, even if the movie is understandably going after that audience. It’s a score CD that will appeal as much to traditional film music fans as it might teenagers. In that respect, were you surprised that the studio didn't make you break out the guitars and drum machines to sell albums to 14 year-olds? 答DESPLAT: You know what? I deny the words "old school." I think a good score is a good score, not just because it’s orchestral, or because you add a drum kit or an electric guitar to it, which I did use very subtly here.
