Another year in music is complete and Nu-Soul Magazine’s editor Norman Mayers has chosen his top 10 albums that best illustrate the concept of Nu-Soul. These 10 albums were chosen because they made the biggest impact on Norman’s mp3 player in 2009 and because they are all albums that you can purchase (no free downloads on this list). Nu-Soul is not simply about soul music but is about the fusing of styles, pushing beyond the boundaries of traditional soul to create a sonic statement that extends into the future. At Nu-soul the production and sound elements matter just as much as the lyrical content.
