Stryper line-up (classic) Michawl Sweet - vocal, guitar, piano Oz Fox - guitar Tim Gaines - bass, keyboards Robert Sweet - drums discography 紫色為精選紅色為現場 The Yellow and Black Attack (1984) Soldiers Under Command (1985) To Hell with the Devil (1986) In God We Trust (1988) Against the Law (1990) Can't Stop the Rock (1991) 7 Weeks: Live in America, 2003 (2004) 7: The Best of Stryper (2003) Reborn (2005) The Roxx Regime Demos (2007) Murder by Pride (coming soon) 白金屬(white metal)，或是稱為福音金屬(christian metal)，可說是福音音樂(gospel music)後期所衍伸出的風格之一，個人認為就音樂上而言，聽起來和一般的heavy metal並沒有兩樣，最主要的差別在於歌詞上所表達出的內容而已。來自美國南加州的Stryper，前身為Roxx Regime，由兩兄弟Michael Sweet及Robert Sweet 成立，吉他手找來了了高中同學Oz Fox(題外話吉他手C.C. DeVille在加入Poison之前，也曾經為Roxx Regime的成員)，在貝斯手Tim Gaines加入後，Robert Sweet突發奇想從"以賽亞書五十三章第五節"取出其中一字"stripes"(中文是翻作"鞭傷"…why?)改成"Stryper" 成了他們的新團名，下面還會加註Isaiah 53:5的字樣，除此之外Stryper另有七個單字縮寫的意思，而那黃黑相間，看起來像蜜蜂般的條紋服裝、樂器也成了他們的招牌之一。 1984年首張EP"The Yellow and Black Attack"發行，收錄的曲目皆為Roxx Regime時期的作品，"Loud N' Clear"、"From Wrong to Right"、"You Know What To Do"是樂團經典歌曲之一，有興趣的樂友可以去找歌詞來看看，另外還有一首"My Love I'll Always Show" 在Roxx Regime時期原是一首走搖滾風格的歌，在這張EP經過重新詮釋後，變成了一首動人的抒情曲，這張EP比較常見的是1986年重發的版本，多收2首歌。附帶一提樂團Guardian (Oz Fox製作過他們首作"First Watch")曾在1998年發行向Stryper致敬專輯"The Yellow and Black Attack is Back"。 1985年專輯"Soldiers Under Command"由知名製作人Michael Wagener操刀，依然走前作的風格，經典作品除了同名曲外，尚有"Makes Me Wanna Sing"、"Together Forever"、 "First Love"、"Together As One"等歌曲，在商業上的成就也為樂團下一張作品的成功奠定了良好的基礎。 1986年的"To Hell With The Devil"製作人換成了Stephan Galfas，是樂團最賣座的專輯但曲風也開始有商業化的趨勢，單曲"Honestly"成了樂團最廣為人知的歌曲，這張專輯也在1988年獲得葛萊美獎"最佳福音團體演出"的提名。其他推薦歌曲："To Hell With The Devil"、"Calling On You"、"Free"、"More Than A Man"。 1988年發行的第四張作品"In God We Trust"也有不錯的水準，但是由於在音樂上越來越偏離早期heavy metal的風格，使得樂團流失了不少樂迷。 1990年的"Against The Law"更是幾乎和white metal扯不上邊，說是一張標準的80's hard rock專輯一點也不為過，樂團在這張專輯也拋棄了以往的團徽、服裝特色，儘管如此有幾首歌個人覺得還蠻不賴的，"Two Time Woman"、"Rock The People"、"Two Bodies (One Mind One Soul)"、"Lady"…etc。後來樂團所屬廠牌Enigma Records破產，Stryper加入 Hollywood Record並在1991年發行精選輯"Can't Stop the Rock"(收錄兩首新作)，隔年在 Michael Sweet離團後不久也宣佈解散，直到九零年代後期才又復出。復出後新作"Reborn"在2005年發行，貝斯手換成了Tracy Ferrie(ex.
