According to Dean Devlin, the new Stargate trilogy is still a go[B 原文網址: http://goo.gl/3SmiB3 While Roland Emmerich and fellow writer/producer Dean Devlin are bringing the big bad aliens from Independence Day once more on the big screen next year, they are also planning to bring back to life another SciFi universe they gave birth to, Stargate. The first movie, released in 1994, has spawned three TV series (SG1, Atlantis and Universe), and a forgettable animated TV show. Stargate Infinity. Still, it seems that the orignal creative minds behind the movie were never really satisfied with all this new material and a new Stargate trilogy has been announced since a couple of time. The news are pretty scarce for now but according to Dean Devlin, the writing process is "slow , but still going on". The script is supposed to be helmed by two newbies, Nicolas Wright and James A. Woods, who are also in charge of the Independence Day 2's script. According to Devlin and Emmerich, the reboot will wipe out all the universe set by the TV series, infuriating some fans of Teal'c and friends. Amanda Tapping, who portrayed Samantha Carter in both SG1 and Atlantis, is "interested, but not involved in the project". Still, could we see some cameos from the series caharacters in the coming reboot? We might think so!! Stay tuned, we'll keep you in touch!
