爬文發現板上關於Sting的討論篇幅很少所以在這個板的首PO就獻給他了個人認為Sting的現場精采程度遠大於出自錄音室的專輯連結都是Sting的Ghost Story 在Durham Cathedral的演唱會版本 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUSYlotulU8

Ghost Story據說是Sting寫給其過世的父親的歌，但Sting不置可否 Sting的官網亦有提及 http://www.sting.com/news/interview.php?uid=3754 前者英國Durham Cathedral表演的曲調很歡欣，但可以聽到Sting少有的溫柔口吻他以往的聲音聽起來偏滄桑歷練、詼諧、旁觀之類的像Shape of My Heart、Moon over Bourbon Street、Fragile 而後者較為沉冷，表演時期比較接近歌曲發表的1999年此更貼近整首歌所想表達的，頗為催淚第一個連結是比較討喜搶耳(?)的，但若搭配歌曲的意義更推第二個連結由於第一次聽後，很想了解這首歌的內涵，卻苦尋不到翻譯有詩人歌手美稱的Sting，歌詞意象大多都有點難解再加上我英文有點破，所以原本想找現成的中文翻譯於是決定自己來翻（邊翻譯能夠邊理解）以下歌詞與我的不負責任翻譯（其實也算是心得啦）↓ Ghost Story Words and music by Sting I watch the Western sky 看向西方的天空 The sun is sinking 太陽漸沉 The geese are flying South 候鳥結伴南飛 It sets me thinking 這讓我想起 I did not miss you much 我不是那麼的想念你 I did not suffer 不曾為此受折磨 What did not kill me 沒有什麼真正扼殺了我 Just made me tougher 反倒讓我更加堅韌 I feel the winter come 我感受冬日到來 His icy sinews, 他寒冷的運作 Now in the firelight 在爐中火光裡 The case continues 案情持續進展 Another night in court 另一個開庭的夜晚 The same old trial 有不變的審訊 The same old questions asked 不變的質疑 The same denial 既定的否認 The shadows close me round 彷彿是陪審團 Like jury members 暗影包圍使我無路可逃 I look for answers in 在餘燼之間 The fire's embers 我企圖尋找答案 Why was I missing then 那時我怎會迷失呢 That whole December? ──整個十二月 I give my usual line, 檢視著日常細碎的線索 I don't remember 卻不復記憶 Another winter comes 接著冬季又來 His icy fingers creep 他冰冷的觸手緩慢 Into these bones of mine 潛進我的骨底 These memories never sleep 這些回憶與反差 And all these differences 不曾睡去 A cloak I borrow 我借來的斗篷 We kept our distances 我們總保持的距離 Why should it follow 可是為何這該被遵從 I must have loved you? 我怎麼會愛你？ What is the force that binds the stars? 什麼力量約束了星辰？ I wore this mask to hide my scars ──為了隱藏疤痕我戴上面具 What is the power that pulls the tide? 什麼權能引領了潮汐？ Never could find a place to hide ──卻始終無法找到躲藏的地方 What moves the Earth around the sun? 什麼使地球繞日周旋？ What could I do but run and run and run? ──除了不斷奔逃，我還能做些什麼？ Afraid to love, afraid to fail　　　　　　　畏懼言愛，畏懼失敗 A mast without a sail　　　　　　　　　　　如無帆之桅 The moon's a fingernail 指甲月亮 And slowly sinking 緩緩地降下 Another day begins 另一日將啟 And now I'm thinking 現在我想起了 That this indifference 如此的漠不關心 Was my invention 出自我的編造 When everything I did 而當時的那些措舉 Sought your attention 只為了引你注意 You were my compass star 你是指南星 You were my measure 我計量的規矩 You were a pirate's map 你是那海盜地圖 Of buried treasure 標記我的寶藏 If this was all correct 如果這一切都是事實 The last thing I'd expect 那我無法期待 The prosecution rests 指控能夠駁回 It's time that I confess 而現在是時候該我自白了： I must have loved you 我必定愛你 I must have loved you 我一直都愛著你某些原文描寫的很模糊的地方我依照所認知的翻了出來譬如不明的主詞、受詞、破折號、連詞以及某些句子的順序否則單看中文可能會有點莫名其妙因此，儘管我希望盡量貼近原文，卻仍多少加油添醋了以上文很長，謝謝收看:) -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 123.193.8.14 ※ 編輯: airily2 來自: 123.193.8.14 (02/10 10:27)
