In my view dance can no longer be elitist. It's a universal language,
a universal means of bringing people together. In popular dances all
over the world, the first thing people do is join hands. Dance is a means
of social, political and religious communication. And members of the
public are caught up in that magic, in that moment of empathy. Their
hearts miss a beat, their minds broaden and their bodies yearn to unfold.
I agree - dance should break the mould and move to the rhythm of passions
and impulses, death and rebirth. The aim should be to put across not a coded,
highly symbolic message, but an inner elan.

舞蹈不能再是菁英社會的特權。這是一種世界性的語言，一個跨國
界的工具，能把人與人拉近。世界上許多廣受歡迎的舞蹈，跳舞
的人首先都會先牽起對方的手。跳舞是一種社交、政治、宗教的溝
通方式。觀眾深陷於此魔法中，陷入那一霎那的情境。他們的心跳
加速，思想拓寬，並且他們的身體渴望可以展開延伸。我同意舞蹈
應該要能破除格局，並且與熱情的律動與生命的動力並行。我們的
目標不該是在傳達一個編碼過的高度象徵訊息，應該是要傳遞出我
們內心的活力。
