report for duty: thirty something thousand kilometers traveled in the last days.
the sun is setting in jakarta. we are in a car, driving with great speed
through the dimly lit city. we are on the way to the show. the blue lights of
the police escort light up the insides of the car. theo thers are dark
silhouettes cut out of blue in front of me. the heat outside are making the
city restless. little kids on the back of motorcycles, street vendors and dark
deep dusty faces looking up at the car.
im thinking about the week i just spend on the way here. north sweden, the
clean cold air and long nights. taiwan and the zoo i visited twice there,
the incredible white headed monkey swinging and the half hour i spent alone
with the bathing tiger. the zoo was amazing. favorite with the taiwanese
children: the penguins! of course. Japan, tokyo. like an old lover, the city
is one of my favorites in the whole world. spent the night in omontesanto
looking at all the young people in love, so delicate is the culture, nature
and people of japan. i think of driving through osaka, and staying in a a big
log cabin, usually serving as a cheeky vacation location. and of the city of
olso that were going to after jakarta. two visits to the munch museum and the
feeling of home that i get when i am there.
to all the people that we spent the last weeks with, to all the frengers who
came out to the shows: thank you so much for the wonderful times.
