本期Wire/Q/uncut..sort of things
本期Wire排出年終榜,第一名是Bjork
其他入選的比起其他的榜單還是一樣沒什麼驚奇,
較讓我吃驚的是這張聽起來像bis的Le Tigre上榜
以及年中被我聽一遍便被拋棄的Electrecane"Rock It Too The Moon"(Let's Rock)
也上榜,所以上週末又拿出來細聽,還是覺得很普通的instrumental drone rock,
來自brighton的四人女子團,一些krautrock影響,
除了用了大量的farfisa organ外,實在沒什麼特別,不懂wire why picked these guys.
(反正榜單就是這樣)
另外Q新一期也選出五十首the most existing songs of alltime
各為耳熟能詳的sweels like teen spirit, a hard day's night,
i am the resurrection, rock 'n' stars, vu, clash, jam, who, roxy music等
都有入選,近年掘出的團只有strokes的hard to explain
第一名是sex pistols的God Save The Queen, wow! they deserved it!
uncut只給BMRC兩顆星(whereas Q gave them 4/5),真爽,
imo, they took everything from jamc, nothing to excite about,
(but they're gonna be next media hype anyway)
另外snowstorm的candidate也在兩處得到孑然不同的評分,(反正常常是如此)
本期Q除了預言英國下一代new generation仍是nu metal當道:
四個團lostprophets, vex red, raging speedhorn, hundred reasons團員一一介紹,
還有去年2001音樂界發生的大事(其實算是調侃,譬如bono在演唱會扮牛,msp團員被捕,
mariah carey性感勞軍,britney在演唱會和蟒蛇起舞被保護動物協會抗議,etc.)
同時也做二十大(?)essential alt-country albums, quite lots,
有興趣的人可以抓時間買來看,
(其中ryan adams及lambchop的kurt wagner獲得king of american稱號)
plus i can't see where the influence of television on strokes is?
probaly the looks!
