Jack Williams Date: 9 July 2001 Summary: An animated work of art Surprises will overwhelm and delight audiences across the United States as they enter movie theaters to watch Disney's latest animated masterpiece. Incredible special effects, non-stop excitement, awe-inspiring adventure sequences and brilliant writing make "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" the movie to see this summer. With recent box office smash hits like `Shrek" and "Atlantis: The Lost Empire," fantasy/adventure animated films seem to be the wave of the future. Additional films such as the "Toy Story" series, "Beauty & The Beast" and "The Lion King" have proven that viewers of all ages can still be impressed with the brilliance of animation. I was incredibly impressed with the every part of "Atlantis: The Lost Empire." The underwater journey was a sight to behold, the characters were intelligent and unique and the story was powerful. I can't recall the last time there was a film that captured the spirit as much as "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" did with its many messages. Michael J. Fox, James Garner, Cree Summer and Leonard Nimoy are just a few of the talented actors who bring this sweeping epic to life. I knew with the talent that was lined up as the voices of these Disney characters that I was in for a real treat. When I heard Fox and Garner would be attached to this project, one word came to mind: credibility. There was an immediate sense of pleasure when I heard their voices because I knew the outcome of the movie was going to be positive. Furthermore, the additional voices were a pleasant surprise because they brought life to the their characters. "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" revolves around the dream of an explorer named Milo Thatch and his search for the lost city of Atlantis. When you throw in a team of experts to guide in the journey, you will get a film with unexpected results. Congratulations must be given to the cast and crew of "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" because they were the driving forces behind this film. With the special effects that kept me smiling to the adventures that kept on the edge of my seat, the writers created an atmosphere for me to view brilliance hard at work. The writing contained within this film is to be commended because it rivals any live action motion picture. With a real and believable story, a journey that will take you a great distance and a heartfelt romance that will leave you breathless, "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" is a movie that will capture your heart and soul. Aside from the incredible special effects and outstanding writing, there were greater levels within "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" that kept me interested throughout the film. Milo's never say quit spirit kept the smile on my face because it taught me that nothing can come between you and a dream. I was proud to be in the audience of this film for this reason alone. Other animated films pale in comparison to the charm, beauty and style contained in "Atlantis: The Lost Empire." Furthermore, this is a movie that deserves to be in a book entitled 葢tep by Step Guide to Making a Great Film' because it has every element required for a perfect movie. With spirited and interesting characters, excellent special effects and intelligent writing, "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" sparkles and shines. I urge everyone to watch this movie.
