The Enraged Will..是他們的第二張專輯,89年發的,是他們公認最好的一張,也是我的all time favorite,裡面每首歌吉他(是由Malcolm教後來Stereolab的Tim彈的) 和絃都那麼jangly,以為這樣的旋律在彈述愛情故事,但歌詞內容卻大多在講述他對不同事物,政治,及社會的看法,舉例第一首Boy Meets Girl So What在最後三句點出情歌的浮濫,另外他們也唱家境好的要多捐錢,政府軍隊殺人難道就被合理化..之類, 強烈社會主義意識形態的標籤讓他們的團性更不同於其他經典的C86樂團,.. 不好意思一講到McCarthy就講太多了!其實我暗暗希望有人能把那張買回去,要不然我沒有現場bonus tracks也很想收Cherry Red版本的.. 其實聽McCarthy也是不用這麼沉重的背負Malcolm的歌詞意涵,..下面是我之前寫給朋友在聽一整天McCarthy後個人的情緒發洩..隨便看看就好.. today(sat.) is my mccarthy day, listening again and again, they're my favorite c86 sound though malcolm's slowly sung lyrics are often bored. mccarthy is said to be despised by sounding similarly and the irrelevance between ultra-jangly guitar and sarcastic lyrics by 'mainstream indie' listeners. for those native english speakers, i can imagine how they feel when they hear malcom's laggard lyrics singing anti-goverment songs, it must be terrible. loser will be the term coming out of their head. and i think they're also disliked by general british glory and the load christians. but because i love their melody and guitar and THE VOCAL, i have to take their lyrics as well, though the lyrics of wolfhound's me is much more to one's heart. they sing 'boy meets girl so what',so what? witty so what. and maybe in my deep heart i know they're not extraordinary but i fell in love with them sometime at some point and the place they are in my heart is the place when they first came and will be there ever since. i don't have lots their stuff. only got 1lp, 1double album (i am a wallet/ banking..) and 'at war ep', maybe i think only 'the enranged will..' is enough for me, and is enough to put me under the spell of imperfection. there are lots great/interesting c86 bands out there there.i know. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.csie.ntu.edu.tw) ◆ From: 61.222.217.250 ※ 編輯: QoQg 來自: 61.222.217.250 (02/20 18:48)
