BJORK, LANG, MCLACHLAN WORSHIP AT THE FOLK ALTAR
The CD A Tribute to Joni Mitchell will be released this spring and will include
covers of Mitchell tunes by some of our favorite people. Check out this track
list:
Sufjan Stevens - Free Man In Paris
Bjork - The Boho Dance
Caetano Veloso - Dreamland
Brad Mehldau - Don't Interrupt The Sorrow
Cassandra Wilson - For The Roses
Prince - A Case Of You
Sarah McLachlan - Blue
Annie Lennox - Ladies Of The Canyon
Emmylou Harris - Magdalene Laundries
Elvis Costello - Edith And The Kingpin
K.D. Lang - Help Me
James Taylor - River
They could have easily made a triple CD with all of the fabulous Mitchell
material ( and talented Mitchell followers who would have surely loved to
cover her ) to choose from, but this looks like a strong collection. McLachlan
recently covered "River" ( one of my faves ) on her CD Wintersong. Here's the
