The five-minute track finds Björk working with the explosive percussion of her "Homogenic" days, with a particularly bombastic breakdown at the 4:30 mark. Lyrically, the Icelandic singer tries to capture the wonder of crystal formation while comparing the process with her own personal growth: "We mimic the openness/Of the warmth we love…With our hearts, we kiss all quartz/To reach love," she sings. "Crystalline" is set to be included on "Biophilia," the follow-up to 2007's "Volta" that was partly recorded using an iPad and will be released as a series of apps. The single was announced on Björk's Facebook page earlier this month, with a release date scheduled "towards end of June." Björk will premiere her live show for "Biophilia" Monday night at the Manchester International Festival, which marks her first U.K. performance in over three years.
