week of release, it was helped by strong word of mouth buzz, mainly in blogs
and on the PTT, eventually attracting record-breaking crowds.[7][8] The film
attracted widespread attention at the 2008 Pusan International Film Festival
where its broadcasting rights were successfully sold to Hong Kong, South
Korea, Malaysia and Singapore.[9] The Hong Kong release date will be November
20, 2008 and the Singapore release date will be January 1, 2009.[10] The film
made its United States premiere on October 10, 2008 in Honolulu at the Hawaii
International Film Festival, where it won the Halekulani Golden Orchid Award
for Best Narrative.[11] Its premiere in the Continental United States will be
on December 12, 2008 in Los Angeles.[12]
