1. Alan Leeds, D的巡迴演唱會經理，也是這張的製作總監．同時也是1982～1992王子的巡迴演唱會經理．他在purple rain巡迴期間，推薦他弟Eric Leeds加入王子樂團，Eric Leeds也是王子自己搞的爵士樂團（madhouse）的團員之一，Eric Leeds同時也成立自己的樂團the family．並且加入The Revolution 參與Parade tour．d'angelo有多愛王子的parade專輯呢，從上一張africa的取樣，還有這張的THE CHARADE
根本就是parade整張的調調．
2. Russell Elevado 和 Ben Kane 錄音總監
3. Black Messiah 就是 James River
所以不用期待James River的bootleg.
4. The Vanguard就是 bassist Pino Palladino
guitarists Jesse Johnson(三年前的歐洲巡迴開始合作) and Isaiah Sharkey
keyboardist Cleo 'Pookie' Sampl
John Blackwell on drums. Maybe Chris Dave?

5. Ain’t That Easy” has both D and Sharkey on guitar.
鼓手是James Gadson (worked with artists such as Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, Isley Brothers, The, Frank Sinatra & Herbie Hancock)
6. 1000 deaths取樣自Dr. Khalid Muhammad的演講片段，除了鼓是qusetlove之外，其餘樂器d一手包辦．
7. The Charade 吉他手Jesse Johnson ！
8. James Gadson將整張唯一作品獻給Sugah Daddy
9. “Betray My Heart”是最早完成的歌，大約可以回朔到2000年，d'angelo 翻玩Fela Kuti-Water No Get Enemy的時候．
10. “Til Its Done”是最晚錄製完成的歌，大約在2010年．
11. 專輯本來預計2015年初才要發行，但是 D'angelo想對發生在Ferguson的Michael Brown槍殺事件發聲，於是提前發行．
