還記得他嗎?
在2009年的聖誕節他選擇親手結束自己的生命
在多次嘗試自殺的漫長歲月他終於還是離開了這世界
於是他在過世前三個月發行的At the Cut也就成為了遺作
這真是讓人相當不甘心 原來專輯發行也不能當作Vic Chesnutt延續生命的保證

看他坐在輪椅上扯著嘶啞的嗓子奮力的唱著"I'm a coward"
真的是震撼人心的悲傷
Vic Chesnutt總共發行了十多張專輯
About to Choke是唯一一張在大廠發行的作品
在他過世後的六個月Plain Recordings重新發行了這張經典之作
Vic Chesnutt在這張十幾年前的作品內頁寫下這麼一些話:
This album is dedicated to all the good folks that sent me letters
and never got a single response, like those that wrote me to say
"don't die"....
Some of this album may be a bit obsessed with the premise that through death,
life is nourished.
如今看來真有點鼻酸...
