'Idol' Daughtry Signs With 19/RCA

Season five "American Idol" contestant Chris Daughtry has signed with 19
Recordings/RCA, joining runner-up Katharine McPhee and winner Taylor Hicks on
the label.
Daughtry has already commenced work with "A-list collaborators," according to
the label, which will release his debut album in late 2006. The artist, who
is currently on the road with the American Idols Live tour, will also form a
permanent band.
Daughtry has already impacted the Billboard charts with his cover of Bon
Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive," which debuted at No. 16 on Billboard's Hot
Digital Tracks survey and No. 43 on the Hot 100.
