[問題] 關於standard version & widescreen version
在下購入三區華納發行的正版港版靈慾春宵(Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?)
DVD為單碟雙面(放入光碟機時上下倒置讀取不同版本)
有Standard Version和Widescreen Version兩種。

播放設備: 個人電腦，螢幕為4:3(17吋)

Standard Version播放時，片頭出現
This film has been modified as follows from its original version: it has been
formatted to fit your screen.
我的想法是，電影的原始版本為1.85寬螢幕，選Widescreen Version播放應該比較好。
Standard(4:3)播放出的版本，應該是左右兩邊剪裁去除，或者是用PAN&SCAN，
Widescreen 應會比 Standard 看得到的畫面要多(多出原本該有的左右邊畫面)
但我實際撥放的情形是:

真正的情形是4:3全螢幕看到的反而比寬螢幕來的多，
寬螢幕上下畫面消失了。
但這部電影並非使用Super 35mm拍攝。
請問怎麼會出現這種情形?
我的理解哪邊有錯誤嗎?
