在經歷過成員之一Chris Walla離團後， Death Cab For Cutie近期準備發表新專輯Kintsugi 然而在這之前，他們先加入了 "30 Days, 30 Songs" 這個計畫這計畫在幹嘛呢？先前網路上盛傳一段好萊塢影星拍片請大家睿智的投合適的美國總統人選一票，這個計畫就是從Oct. 10開始，每天找來一組歌手/樂團，發表一首歌。（網站：http://www.30days30songs.com）首波推出的單曲就是由DCFC所寫的諷刺Trump的"Million Dollars Loan" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XE0nOfTA3pY

主唱Gibbard講述這首歌的背景： Lyrically, “Million Dollar Loan” deals with a particularly tone deaf moment in Donald Trump’s ascent to the Republican nomination. While campaigning in New Hampshire last year, he attempted to cast himself as a self-made man by claiming he built his fortune with just a “small loan of a million dollars” from his father. Not only has this statement been proven to be wildly untrue, he was so flippant about it. It truly disgusted me. Donald Trump has repeatedly demonstrated that he is unworthy of the honor and responsibility of being President of the United States of America, and in no way, shape or form represents what this country truly stands for. He is beneath us. -- I just don't feel like you appreciate any of it. I don't feel you appreciate me.
