A remix by Nick of The Music's song "The People", will appear on their new
single Freedom Fighters. Nick actually completed this remix way, way back in
January 2003, which is when he first told me about it and also when he swore
me to secrecy, as he was still awaiting Virgin's okay and approval of the
track. They have been sitting on the remix since then, and I for one was
wondering when it would ever make it's appearance. Well now it has!
Apparently the former Verve, now The Music's manager Jazz Summers initially
put the remix job Nick's way.
Nick told me "Not gone mad with it but it's pretty different. Funkadelic on
mogodon. Slowed it down and chucked out all the guitars,lol. Of the two mixes
(I did), they went for the full vocal version, no matter though, I'm still
well happy with it. I'm pretty sure it's probably one of the best things
I've done for general release."
Nick also said that to help him along with the task of the remix,
The Music kindly sent him the separated tracks of their song "The People"....
all 84 of them!
